Derek Ramsay, filled with high spirits, signed the contract as the ambassador of sports channel AKTV (on IBC 13).

On that day, fans of Derek were impressed by the hunk actor’s closeness to his parents. They were almost just like barkadas.

It was also endearing to the public that Derek has not lost the kid in him. Though his achievements, he remained young and humble.

”One of the reasons I decided to move to TV5 is its promise to support what I love, sports, so how could I say no? I’m wired that way. I’m excited to do Amazing Race and to cover the Olympics in London. It’s my longtime dream to compete in the Olympics. For now, I’m happy to represent the country in the World Cup Frisbee Competition.” Derek said in an interview about his thoughts on being taped as the sports ambassador of AKTV.
Derek made a comment about the rumors telling that TV5 offering him P500 million is far from real. ’What people don’t know is, the offers were not that far apart. But it’s nowhere near P500 million that people are saying. Nakakahiya naman ’cause I feel I don’t deserve that kind of money. Wala pa ako sa level ng career ko where I can demand that much. But I would be lying if I say that money was not a consideration when I decided to move. Siyempre, business din ito. But there’s more to it than that. I would also like to do teleseryes eventually. I’m not gonna turn my back on acting.’
When asked about his love life, Derek said that being single wouldn’t make a much change on his career. He pointed out that either single or in a relationship, he would always make sure to deliver as an actor. He said that his relationship with Angelica was the longest and the most serious relationship.I felt she was the one. Unfortunately things didn’t work out the way we wanted. This is probably the first time I’ll say that I’ll leave the door open.”

”When I’m in love, I’m a one-woman man. Actually late bloomer ako. I had my first girlfriend at 18.” Derek added.
