Jessica Sancez goes to finals of the eleventh season of “American Idol”.
The Idol host, Ryan Seacrest announced Jessica Sanchez as the first contestant to compete in the American Idol Season 11 Finale last early friday in Manila time.
It was announced a little soon that Phillip Phillips, another contestant of the said show, will be the one to compete with Sanchez for the finals.
The one who was eliminated was Joshua Ledet who got the low number of votes.
Even before the results were announced there were already speculations that Jessica Sanchez would make it to finals. Jimmy Lovine, a music producer and the mentor of the competitors throughout the series mentioned Jessica in his reviews and said that “she’s got it” and that she could sing in the prestigious Grammy Awards.
It was last Thursday night, Friday in Manila, when the results were announced after the nationwide voting. Jessica impressed everyone by singing Mariah Carey’s “My All”, The Jackson’s 5′s “I’ll Be There”, and Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.
Sanchez earned the approval of the judges for almost all performances she showed except for “Idol” which judge Randy Jackson reviewed Sanchez’s third performance lacked what he said “moment-moment”.
Sanchez is 16 years old and came from the Filipino- Mexican descent. She is this year’s last girl standing and the farthest Filipino who has ever gone into the “American Idol”. Jasmine Trias, also a Filipino-American made it to the top 3 in American Idol’s season 3. Thia Megia, another Filipino-Mexican meanwhile got it at the top 11 of the previous season.
Fans of Jessica Sanchez gone wild upon hearing the good news. There were lots of positive comments congratulating Jessica in internet . Filipinos have been all out in their support of Sanchez and there were even Filipino made videos supporting Jessica in her battle. In an internet poll, Digital Spy, Jessica Sanchez got the majority of the vote (55.4 percent) saying that she will be the season’s idol.
Phillips and Sanchez will face off Tuesday and the 11th season “Idol” champion crowned on Wednesday. Everybody awaits for the grand result. Phillips has never been at the bottom of the apectrum, while Sanchez was about to be eliminated during the finals’ sixth round, but the judges used their one-time-only power to rescue her from elimination.
